“What is essential is invisible to the eyes”, says the fox.
~The Little
Prince~
Thank you very much for shopping at About Glamour. You might
have heard of the story called “The Little Prince” which is my recommended book.
The author, Antoine de saint-Exupery was a pilot himself and he passed away
from the flight accident in 1944. After reading the book, I felt little a bit
sad because I identified him with the little prince. On the last two pages of
the book, a simple drawing of the desert and the star is written. On the
following page, it stated, “This is the little price appeared on the Earth,
then disappeared.” Antoine disappeared like the little price did. But I really enjoyed
reading this book because I was able to come back to my childhood in my imagination. I could tell
that the author was like a child in a good way and saw the world with kid’s eyes;
He was probably the little prince himself. I was like the little prince when I
was a kid. For example, when I was playing a jungle gym at my elementary
school, I imagined the ground was made up of magma, so I would die if I fell
down… However, as a grown-up, my imagination is sometimes easily lost. In the
story, a friend of the little prince, the fox gives him an advice, “Here is my
secret. It’s quite simple: One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything
essential is invisible to the eyes.” This is a secret that I also won’t have to
forget.
