"America Mura" アメリカ村
Thank you for always shopping at About Glamour. This time, we would like to introduce one of the most popular shopping areas in Osaka, which is called, "America Mura"(Mura means Village in Japanese).
Technically, it means "American Village" in English. However, the atmosphere is nothing like a village. In America Mura, there are many imported-vintage clothing stores from Hawaii and California. That is the reason why, it is called American Village.
It takes place in Shinsaibashi area and many young people chill out there. In the area there are many things you can do. For example, you can eat Takoyaki in the park called "Triangle Park". You can also go to watch a movie at the shopping mall, called "Big Step", listening to records at variety of record shops, and getting clothes from vintage clothing stores.
If you visit America Mura, you probably feel comfortable because the atmosphere is similar to Williamsburg (Probably little a bit more crowded than Williamsburg though). It is also called West Shibuya or West Harajyuku.
Hopefully, if you have a chance to visit Osaka, explore your new discoveries and tell us about your experience or ask us any questions before you go to Japan!
